Hair!!

I love the movie hair! This movie is a musical about a man named Claude who moves from Oklahoma to New York because he is going into the Vietnam War. Claude meets four hippies named George Berger, Jeannie Ryan, Woof, and Lafayette aka Hud. They take him around the city for a night to remember. Since this is a music blog I of course have to talk about the songs these actors sing in this movie. They are incredible, they include Aquarius, Sodomy, Donna, Hashish, Manchester, England, and of course Hair! I recommend this movie to all music lovers and all movie lovers. Even if you don't like musicals trust me you will love this movie.

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging!

I absolutely love this movie, especially it's soundtrack! Songs include She's So Lovely by Scouting For Girls,  Naive by Lily Allen, and Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and Victoria Bergsman. I saw this movie after it came out in the UK and had to immediately get the soundtrack! My favorite songs are played by the Stiff Dylans which include Ever Fallen In Love and Ultraviolet.

Well I was reading Rolling Stone the other day and saw a very important piece of news. The band that gave us songs like Black Hole Sun is now reuniting! On New Years day Chris Cornell confirmed this via Twitter that they would finally be getting back together after a 12 year break!! Best news ever? I think so.

Guess what I got for christmas?!

Well I love The Beatles of course so my dad went shopping for some of my stuff. He got me a mirror from Spencers that has the beatles walking across Abbey Road on it! It's the coolest thing! He also got me a blanket that has their album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on it which he also got from Spencers. My mom however got me one of the best Beatles gifts which was the making of the Cirque du soleil show Love! Let me just say it was one of the best like 2 hours of my life! It was also very sad, I think it really hit Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, who both worked on the project, seeing the songs put into a Cirque show and the shadows of the band that were on stage many times during the performance. It made me sad because of just seeing only two there now and knowing that George and John are gone. But it was also beautiful that they made that much of an impact on the world.

Pink Floyd

I love Pink Floyd and I just had to try out listening to the Dark Side Of The Moon album while watching The Wizard Of Oz. Let me just say it was an amazing experience, trippy, but amazing. Also last semester at my school my English teacher assigned us an assignment where we were supposed to look at songs and tell the meanings and pick out like metaphors and what not. So we got our papers and guess what song it was? Comfortably Numb! I could'nt believe it, I even asked her if she knew exactly what the song was about and she said yes. She then procedeed to tell me what she thought the song was about! I mean you should have seen her face when I told her what it was really about. She said she had'nt watched the movie The Wall where they used it as, in my opinion, describing Pink's state of mind. He has gotten completely out of touch with the world and is alone. When his manager goes to take him away to his show he is not responding, which most people would relate how he looked and was acting to how some drugs make you feel. He would not get up and they even had to give him a shot to get him up and going. So like I said she did not appreciate me telling her this!
